I just remembered something hilarious.
It was infuriating at the time.

My first teaching job was at Thomas Jefferson High School in Pt. Arthur, Texas.
That year, the federal government offered 'low income men'
FREE VASECTOMIES.
You guessed it.
I qualified.~ 4 yr college degree. full time at PAISD
plus I had a full coaching increment, to boot.
The folks in D.C. figured that I should
not be encouraged to reproduce.

WHAT I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND

Why is it REASONABLE
for some congressmen to say
"we must CUT spending
at least a LITTLE
to get started on
reducing the debt?"

AND

Why isn't it UNREASONABLE
for those same congressmen to say
"we can't RAISE taxes
even a LITTLE
because it won't go far enough
reducing the debt"?
